Title: | Probing chirality by polarized beams |
講演者: | 岸根 順一郎 氏 (九州工業大学) |
Speaker: | Prof. Jun Kishine (Kyushu Institute of Technology) |
Abstract: |
Left-handed or right-handed chirality is one of the most fundamental
building block of nature. To detect and control chirality in molecule,
crystal, or magnetic structures is thus a big challenge for us from both
theoretical and experimental viewpoints. In this seminar, I will focus
on how to use polarized neutron, synchrotron radiation, and ultrasound
to probe chiral structures. Contents are as follows:
(1) Crystallographic and magnetic chirality
(2) Spin wave, soliton crystal, and spin current in chiral helimagnet
(3) How to probe chirality
(3-1) Polarized neutron beam
(3-2) Polarized synchrotron radiation beam
(3-3) Polarized ultrasound beam
