Abstract: |
Magnetic multipolar orders including nematic orders have been studied actively, especially, in the theoretical field of magnetism. Recently, it has been shown that multipolar correlations exhibit quasi-long-range order in the wide regime of the field-induced Tomonaga-Luttinger liquid phases of spin-1/2 zigzag chains, which is the minimal model for a number of 1D cuprates. In general, it is difficult to experimentally obtain any direct evidence for multipolar order, and then to propose the experimental ways is strongly desired. We show that NMR measurement offer a good way of probing a clear signature of the multipolar orders in zigzag spin chains. As far as I know, this result is the first (?) realistic proposal for detecting multipolar orders.
