Abstract: |
In the normal metallic state of strongly correlated electronic system such as cuprate superconductor the Hall coefficient exhibits strong temperature dependence, while it is a constant in Fermi liquids. This is widely regarded as an evidence for a non-Fermi liquid. On the basis of the linear response theory the Hall conductivity is expressed as the sum of two contributions. One comes from the individual excitations of quasi-particles and the other from the collective excitations. We discuss that the latter leads to the strong temperature dependence of the Hall conductivity. Also we criticize the quasi-particle transport theory using the FLEX approximation.
